Staying Proactive: How Spring Automation Prioritizes Safety Year-Round

At Spring Automation, safety isn’t just a policy—it’s a mindset that we reinforce daily. From the moment an employee starts with Spring, safety is at the forefront. Our dedicated Safety Committee meets regularly to ensure that we’re not only responding to incidents but actively working to prevent them in the future. At Spring, employees traveling to a job site are required to complete the OSHA 10 certification. In addition, we have developed further training courses, such as Scissor Lift training, Arc Flash training, Lock Out Tag Out, and Fall Protection, containing presentations and quizzes on an internal online portal for employees to complete. Training and examinations ensure that our team is prepared and equipped before setting foot on a job site.

A Look Back to Move Forward

Each monthly safety meeting begins with a review of any incident reports—whether they occurred on-site, at our warehouse, or in the office. This isn’t just about providing care for those affected, though that’s always a top priority; it’s about identifying the root cause and creating an actionable plan to reduce the chance of a repeat occurrence. During these meetings, the committee takes the time to review any new safety documentation required by customers. Once evaluated, our team maps out how this information will be communicated effectively to our Project Teams, ensuring that everyone is informed and in compliance. As an Avetta-certified contractor, Spring Automation takes risk management seriously. Our Safety Committee monitors any updates from the platform and ensures that our compliance documents remain current. We also share relevant information with other contractors we work with through Avetta, fostering a culture of accountability and transparency.

Educating Through Monthly Safety Presentations & Conversations

To keep safety top-of-mind, the committee selects a topic each month for our company-wide meetings for a safety presentation. These topics are timely, often aligned with the season or recent industry events, and are designed to educate and engage employees across departments. Our Safety Committee plays a key role in protecting our people and improving our processes through consistent review, proactive planning, and team-wide education. It’s just one more way we show that safety is a shared responsibility—and a core part of our company culture. In addition, team leaders promote safety throughout their team through continuous conversations. Finally, team members are encouraged to share on-site safety observations and practices to improve awareness. Conversations keep safety in mind and encourage team members to evaluate situations daily.
